CHEGG at the 11th Workshop on New Institutionalism in Organization Theory
The 2015 annual workshop of the new institutionalism network took place in Vienna and was hosted by WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. The workshop convened more than a hundred scholars from Europe and beyond and it was the largest one to date.
Jelena Brankovic, Meta Gorup and Marco Seeber presented papers looking at different aspects of the institutional theory and its application in higher education:
- ‘Carving the Field? The Fluid Agency of the Academic Profession’ (Jelena Brankovic)
- ‘Identity Work as a Form of Institutional Work: A Social Identities Perspective’ (Meta Gorup)
- ‘Organizational identity narratives in an institutional pluralistic environment. An analysis of UK universities mission statements’ (Marco Seeber, Vitaliano Barberio, Jeroen Huisman, Jelle Mampaey)
The workshop was conceived of as an open forum, a space for meeting and conversation, and putting forward new research ideas, rather than for presenting polished papers that have already been submitted to major journals.
