Factors Affecting the Quality of Higher Education

The first aim of the project is to conduct an extensive literature review in order to identify the key conceptual perspectives on quality (in higher education) and the most important factors that determine quality in higher education. These factors will be analysed at three levels: the system level, the organisational level, and the teaching and learning level (students, teachers, and the curriculum). The second aim is to reflect on the recent quality discourses in the Netherlands. Using the insights from the literature review, key stakeholders´ views on quality will be analysed.

The research project is commissioned by the Dutch Education Council (Onderwijsraad). The final report can be found here.

Project duration: September 2014 – February 2015.
